OUR OCEAN 2019 Conference

Ocean Visuals will present under "Meet the Innovators" during Our Ocean Conference 2019 at the Hub Hotel, Oslo on 23.-24. October.

"Meet the innovators" sessions will take place during breaks in the mingle area under Our Ocean. A small number of innovative companies in the marine industry will give short presentationson their respective solutions that promote sustainable use of the sea.About Our Ocean 2019The sea is important for the Norwegian economy, and will be a key source of value creation and jobs for Norway in the future. The growing world population needs new jobs, enough and the right food, medicines and clean environment. Many of these needs are met through sustainable use of the sea, and Norway already has several world-leading players in marine-based business.The Norwegian Government is hosting the International Our Ocean Conference on October 23 and 24, 2019, where the focus will be on knowledge-based marine management as a basis for future sustainable growth. Total attendance at the conference will be limited to around 500 participants, including ministers, leaders of international organizations, NGOs and global business.The main delivery of the Our Ocean Conferences is voluntary commitments to implement significant and meaningful measures for clean, healthy and productive seas.Commitments must have a significant impact, be measurable and have a clear timeframe. Some examples of possible obligations are: reduction of greenhouse gases from ships, reduction of plastic waste, introduction of cleaner energy sources, use of smart waste management on ships and in ports, etc.The conference will build partnerships between government, industry, science and civil society, putting knowledge, technology and finance into action to meet the challenges facing the ocean and enable production and sustainable use to go hand in hand so that the ocean can continue to provide for the needs of future generations.For more information see ourocean2019.no
